What makes a design good? What makes a design bad?
It’s not about pretty colors or expensive fonts.
Design is the rendering of intent.
Good design is when the impact of the rendering matches the intent. Bad design is when it doesn’t, for any reason.
You have to state your intent before you do it. Claiming you meant it afterward doesn’t count. That’s like the friend who never picks a winner before the game but always “knew” who’d win after. It’s annoying, not cute. Nobody buys that, literally.
Successful design businesses have a higher track record of good design than bad design.
If you want to make money with design, get really good at telling your clients what you’ll do for them and make the impact match your intention.
